Buy-A-Dot and Help Share God’s Word
Having the Bible in Braille makes an eternal life changing difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities throughout the world who are connected to the Blind or Visually Impaired.
To distribute these Bibles, Lutheran Braille Workers relies on thousands of dedicated volunteers who produce, collate, and ship these Braille volumes throughout the world. Every single page of the Braille Bible requires a separate zinc plate which has to be embossed individually, one at a time.
A new Plate Embossing Device and related equipment are being purchased to help Lutheran Braille Workers bring the Gospel message to even more individuals world-wide who are Blind or Visually Impaired, and this initiative is known as the Buy-A-Dot campaign.
This campaign began in October 2019, and due to COVID, has been extended into 2021. There is one ultimate goal—ensuring Lutheran Braille Workers, and all of our volunteers, have the equipment and tools needed to assemble and distribute the Word of God to people who are Blind or Visually Impaired, throughout the world, at no cost to them. We look forward to celebrating the successful completion of this campaign when travel resumes!
Everything LBW does is focused on bringing the Good News of Jesus to individuals throughout the world who may not otherwise known Him.
We are undertaking this campaign to raise the financial means for the purchase of a new Plate Embossing Device like the one pictured here, as well as the related expenses, supplies, staffing, and training connected to this critical machine and campaign.
In creating this campaign, we were inspired by the work our Ministry Production Centers perform to create Braille Bibles for individuals who are Blind. We thought about how this work involves many, many, many DOTS!
Whether on the zinc plate, or on the actual pages themselves, those many, many dots connect people to Jesus through their fingertips!
